The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, also known as LACMA, holds an annual gala in Los Angeles. Saturday November 6th, 2021 marked the 10th year of the LACMA Art + Film Gala, once again sponsored by Gucci. Functioning mainly as a fundraiser for the museum’s film projects, donations are also used for future exhibitions, programming, and more.
Each year, the gala recognizes an artist and a filmmaker (sometimes two). This year Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley were honored for their paintings of Michelle and Barack Obama, and Guillermo Del Toro (filmmaker) also recognized his friend and mentor, Steven Spielberg. Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio were co-chairs of the event.
Music also plays an important role in the night. This year, soul singer Celeste took the stage, followed by Florence Welch with a duet.
At this year’s gala, fans saw celebrities such as Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Dove Cameron, Serena Williams, and more walk the red carpet. While many other were in attendance of this memorable night, below are a few of the looks from the gala. All images are courtesy of Vogue.
