The Hylton Varsity Football Team at the homecoming game.

The Bulldogs football team had a rough start to their season; however, they made a comeback at the first home game versus Briar Woods. They won 34-22. The following game was Friday, September 18th against Battlefield High and Hylton had a rough loss. Players Tyler Rekdal and Noah Byers said that the team will come back. The upcoming game is against Woodbridge High School at 7. The game is away. Come support our boys.

Tyler Rekdal is a senior here at Hylton. He recently transferred from Colgan High School. Tyler claimed that the transfer had to do with the fact he had better athletic and academic opportunities here than he would’ve if he had continued to play quarterback for Colgan’s team. Rekdal plays quarterback for the Bulldogs and his jersey number is 1. He was previously friends with the majority of the boys on the team, which ultimately made it easier for the team to adjust to him playing as their QB. Rekdal says he gets along with Coach Murphy and appreciates everything he does and all the sacrifices he makes for each one of his playersTyler stated that he believes Patriot is going to be their toughest game this year and that they are going to be a tough team to beat. After high school, Tyler Rekdal hopes to pursue football in college, while studying sports medicine and eventually begin a career in the sports field
