Black Friday and Cyber Monday During a Global Pandemic

For many countries around the world, Black Friday shopping is a common tradition after Thanksgiving Day, in which multiple stores lower prices on most of their products by a significant amount.

While this tradition has been a very celebrated one in many countries such as the US, UK, France, Argentina, and Japan. This year, however, with the current ongoing global pandemic. Black Friday has been changed in various ways, in certain stores. For example, Walmart has confirmed that Black Friday deals will be divided into 3 separate events, and Target has also promoted Black Friday deals that will last from November 8th, up until the 14th of November. These business choices were likely made so that there will not be a large number of consumers crowded in one building for a long period of time.

What About Cyber Monday?

While fewer people will participate in Black Friday this year, there will most likely be an increase in consumers participating in Cyber Monday, due to several people having to stay home in order to fight off COVD-19, and because many people will be looking for bargains due to many people financially struggling (from COVID-19 lockdowns) to pay for essential items such as food, water, and clothing.

Speaking of CyberMonday, there have already been a number of Cyber Monday deals being advertised by various store chains, such as Amazon, Sams Club, and CheapOAir.

The Problem With This Years Shopping Holidays

While many consumers will be purchasing products during Cyber Monday and Black Friday, there has been a concern from many businesses that there will not be enough supply to meet the large demand for not just Cyber Monday and Black Friday, but also the upcoming holiday shopping season. The reason for this is because the Coronavirus has been causing several problems around the world, in regards to worker safety concerns, and shipping delays.

What Are Some Deals to Be Aware of?

Currently, Best Buy is having several discounts for large, HD, flat-screen TVs, such as the “TCI – 55″ Class 4 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV” which was originally priced at $399.99 but is now priced at $249.99, and the “TCI – 50” Class 4 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV which was priced originally at $349.99, but is now priced at $229.99.

On Amazon, there are nail products from Modelones that are discounted up to 30% off, and there are Skincare gift sets from Burt’s Bees that are discounted up to 20% off. As for toys, Fisher Price is offering up to 40% off on some of their products. On the Tech side of Amazon, Sony is selling various audio home items, such as the “Sony SAC59 10-inch Active Subwoofer” for up to 51% off! As for home esstenial items, there are cotton salon towels being sold for around $25.49 – $26.34, and there is a 15 piece kitchen knife set with a sharpener wooden block, and serreated steak knifes being sold for $33.59. There is also discounts of up to 20% off on Brenville Smart Ovens, and 15% off on a NAYOHOSE Wooden Cooking Utensil Set.
